52 Youth clubs formed initially were provided with sports articles like cricket bats, volley
ball nets and balls.
Carrier guidance classes organized often.
Youth members were selected based on their eligibility and they attended entrepreneur
development course of one month duration in our Institutes premises during the
previous years.
They were thus made further eligible to avail loan assistances of up to rupees one lakh
through the scheme Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana.
Activities related to the follow-up in the form of introduction of youth members to
various industrial Firms around and proper guidance to approach the concerned
government departments were under taken by the Institute.
The Institute had earlier actively involved in organizing the youth in the villages, which
was resulted with formation of youth clubs; All these associations were provided with a
part contribution, either by cash or in kind for purchase of sports materials.
Altogether, 32 youth associations were thus formed initially. As a sense of awareness
was created among these youth, they themselves planned for their future course of
actions. Thus, youth were trained to undertake constructive measures towards their
own village developments.
Sports Program
The Institute also had to slowly phase out from these activities as the Community
Organizations of these kinds were already provided with enough assistances, in the form
of training programmes purchasing of sports materials conducting youth sports events
and cultural progams etc.
During these years under report 6 youth clubs from Kovalam are availed .
In majority of the occasions, wherever eye caps are arranged by our Institute eye
camps re arranged by our Institute the youth members turned up to the camp spot
in good numbers and assisted as volunteers.
Office bearers’ training programs as well
as organized for these youth forums at the cluster level head quarters kike
Kelambakkam, Kovalam, Thiruporrur, Mambakkam, Sembakkam and Navalur.
One week Management Training
With the collaboration of small Industries Service Institute (SISI), the ICDS
conducted a week-long management training at ICDS premises. 35 youth from
various part of Kancheepruam district and from Chennai participated in this training
programme. The course contents included; activities and services of small Industries
Service Institute, how to get power connection for their industries, activities of DIC,
Registration procedures, Need and formalities for insurance, how to get TNGST and
details about taxation laws, etc.
Training Program
Similar programs were conducted two twice.
A special campaign on PMRY programmers was arranged at the Institute’s premises,
where the Districts Additional collector Shri. Neeraj Mittal IAS participated. The
programme was supported by the presence of Government officials legislators &
parliamentarians. Shri Kupuswamy the Regional Manger of Indian Bank and shri
Manoharan, the lead District Bank Manger and local Bank Mangers conducted this
one day long campaign shri K.Parasuraman the Member of parliament from
Kancheepurqam Constituency and Shri chockalaingam, the member of legislative
Assembly of Thirupporur Constituency also addressed the gathering.
The follow up in the form of introduction of youth members to various Industrial Firms
around and proper guidance to approach the concerned Government departments
were undertaken by the Institute.
