The institute of community development services (ICDS) is a registered
voluntary service organisation registered under the Tamilnadu society registration
Act of 1975 and is serving for rural development covering more than 50 panchayat
villages in Thiruporur block of Kancheepuram district in Tamilnadu of South
India, since 1980. Latter, the ICDS extended the work to other parts of
Kancheepuram District, Chennai District & Tirunelveli districts.
Legal status: Registered society with registration no. S2 of 1980,
registered under Tamilnadu registration Act of 1975 – Having 12 A, FCRA, 80 G
( 5 and vi) with all other necessary legal requirements.
The ICDS activities are well accommodated in its’ central office located
at 1 acre land with good infra structure like building, equipments and vehicles. The
ICDS programs are often assisted and geared up with the involvement of the
volunteers. Available all over in the surrounding villages.
The ICDS manages all its’ activities by a well constituted Managing body in
the society with 7 executive members and other ordinary members upto 15. They
meet once in two months and manage all the affairs related to the society as well as
the village populace.
