Severe flood affected three districts of Tamilnadu, namely Kancheepuram, Chennai, and
Thiruvallore, during the months of November and December 2015. Lakhs and lakhs of
people lost their livelihood materials and a few lakhs houses submerged in the flood.
At this situation, the ICDS organized flood relief camps on three occasions and at one
occasion itself food and dress packets, containing rice, saree, Towel, Biriyani food, biscuits
and cakes, and cash etc, with the value of about Rs.500/- was distributed to each
beneficiary for totally around 400 persons.
Throughout the two months’ period during November and December, individual
attention were provided and through this effort another 300 persons were benefitted.
Altogether around 800 persons from this Kelambakkam area got relief assistances
through our continuous flood relief operations.
